Heart My Pastel by Nancy Cucci

Brenda has stitched another very pretty Nancy Cucci heart.  This one is called "Heart My Pastel" and you can find the chart in the July/August 2012 issue of Needlepoint Now magazine.  That's excellent news as usually Nancy Cucci charts are only available through her classes.

The digital version of the magazine is $4.50 on the Needlepoint Now website.

Taming the Wild Metallic (Radiance)

Sharon has been experimenting with the new Radiance metallics on her current Ann Hanson Santa.

Bascially, she waxes the end of the thread she put in the needle's eye.  It helps keep the thread from unraveling.  If your favorite shop doesn't carry beeswax, you can order it online.  Shops that carry metallic threads for goldwork are great sources, or you can order from places like S&J Needleworks.

Visiting The Sign of The Arrow

Mary Corbet is on the road and --being a better person than me-- she allowed just 22 minutes to find and explore Sign of the Arrow in St. Louis, Missouri.

In case you aren't on the road like Mary, you can visit Sign of the Arrow's website.  By the way, this shop is unique in their yearly shop exclusive kit is available either as a painted canvas or a counted thread chart.

The smallest amount of time I've ever spent in a needlepoint shop is 60 minutes.  And I felt quite rushed!

The Smart Cookie Award for November

A friend of Amanda's stitched table numbers for her sister's wedding.  For those of you not on Facebook, they have a pretty border, the number and the initials of the bride and groom.

They are quite pretty, aren't they?  They are on acrylic stands for the wedding but will be used as coasters at the bride's house after.  Very clever!
