Pears Everywhere!

Stephanie loves pear ornaments and has stitched a lot of them. She posted a few on her blog recently. These are from HeartStrings and Kelly Clark. Melissa Shirley has quite a few pear canvases as well.

Victorian Carolers for Dr. Donn

When I saw Stephanie's set of Victorian caroling stand up figures form Heartstrings, I thought of a friend who sort of would like to stitch such a set. This is for you, Donn!   Merry Christnas!

Anyone Heard of the Petei Stitch?

While browsing eBay yesterday I stumbled across a mention of "Petei Stitch" in this listing for a Heartstrings Santa and his Fat Cat.   ???
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Heartstrings-Decorating-Santa-Painted-Canvas-Full-Kit-/121194651907?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c37c3a103

I've never heard of Petei Stitch. I assume it is named in honor of the designer Petei (perhaps by the stitch guide writer Martha Johnson at Fancy Stitches?) but I don't know which stitch we are talking about here.  Can anyone solve this mystery?

If all else fails I'll email Fancy Stitches....

Christmas Sets

Nativities aren't the only sets of needlepoint that decorate our homes during the Christmas season. How about carolers?  These are often done in a "Dickens" style.  This set that Stephanie beautifully stitched is from Heartstrings.

The Twelve Days of Christmas designs make wonderful decorations.  Stephanie also collects the Ewe and Eye canvases of buildings and animals, and will one day have a terrific series to display.  To see everything, go to the second link and work backwards through her postings.

Suzanne also stitched a Twelve Days set.  These are the last two in the series.  To see the rest, work backwards through her recent blog entries.

Robin posted Judy's Twelve Days set, done in one of Robin's enhancement class at Amy Bunger's shop.

ABS Designs' nutcracker ornaments are wonderful fun.  You can see Mer's here.  The second link shows off the whole series on the ABS Designs website.  Anne even blogged about stitching the models so you can read the entires for a sort of stitch guide.  (Note, the three nutcrackers ornament isn't from ABS Designs.)

The little tote bags are darling.

You can make your own set if you like.  How about all these Russian-style Santas?  They are also from Heartstrings.

These similarly-sized and -themed canvases from Associated Talents make for a wonderful set when finished in a similar way.

A Dickens Christmas (For Donn)

Today I have a wonderful set of Christmas stand up pieces for you to admire. They are a set of Dickens Christmas figures from Heartstrings.

Donn, I thought of you when I saw these.  Here's the entire set on the Artists Collection website (they distribute Heartstrings).  Stephanie and her friend got theirs through Needle Works in Austin.  They aren't on the NWKS website right now but any shop can order them for you.

HeartStrings Limited Edition Santas

Did you know that HeartStrings has released the last limited edition Santa in their series?  Pat Thoade wants to retire!  Did you know that Thread Garden is having an Artists Collection trunk show and has one of each of all of the limited edition folk art Santas for sale at the trunk show twenty percent off discount?  I couldn't get the link to the Limited Edition Santas on the Artists Collection to work but maybe it'll be working again by the time this publishes. Or maybe the link has been turned off as these designs disappear when they sell out....

These designs aren't on the Thread Garden website but you can email to inquire about the year's Santa you want.

Chilly Hollow Stitch Guides: Artists Collection

I've added a new entry to the CH Stitch Guides blog.  This time I'm writing about Artists Collection*, which represents three separate designers, all of whom offer stitch guides for some, many or all of their canvases.  You can visit my other blog by clicking here--
http://chstitchguides.blogspot.com/2010/08/collection-of-designs-with-guides.html

*Sorry, I mistakenly wrote A Collection of Designs. Palma caught it, so thank you very very much!

If you haven't voted on which Patt & Lee canvas I should stitch (see yesterday's entry for the choices), please either use the poll above or email your choice to me at chillyhollow at hotmaildotcom before you leave. Thanks!
