A Needlepoint Love Story, 2016 Entry UPDATED

Thistle Hill is holding its third annual needlepoint exhibit from February 24-38 in Fort Worth, Texas.   This show is called "A Needlepoint Love Story" and because it is the third annual exhibit, the organizers are calling this Chapter Three. This year the exhibit (which raises funds for Historic Fort Worth) will have three exclusive heart canvases that celebrate Thistle Hill.  The French Knot in Fort Worth did the stitch guides and will sell a limited number of the canvases during the show.  Fancy Stitches in Cleburne will also have some of the hearts available.  You can also pre-order the heart canvases although I am not sure where.  I am sure the two shops helping with this (links below) will be able to advise you.  Needlepoint This will have tickets to the exhibit and may be able to order hearts as well.

Pumpkin Playtime

Barbara Elmore profiled a customer's change to her dimensional pumpkin design today and it is fabulous!  Barbara and her sister did the finishing for both the original design and Fancy Stitches' customer's variant.  The moral of the story is don't be afraid to change things to suit yourself.  A masterpiece may be in the making.

Anyone Heard of the Petei Stitch?

While browsing eBay yesterday I stumbled across a mention of "Petei Stitch" in this listing for a Heartstrings Santa and his Fat Cat.   ???

I've never heard of Petei Stitch. I assume it is named in honor of the designer Petei (perhaps by the stitch guide writer Martha Johnson at Fancy Stitches?) but I don't know which stitch we are talking about here.  Can anyone solve this mystery?

Club Needlepoint

This reminds me--I've been working on reorganizing the Monthly Clubs page here at Blog since June.  I decided that there were so many clubs available that I needed to arrange them by topic--Christmas Clubs, Halloween, etc.  Once I finish that task, I plan to work through all the links and make sure every link still works and all the clubs listed are actually still available.

As before, I will put the newest club on top under its section.

This is going to take some time, however.  After all, I've been doing a little bit almost every day for the last six weeks and I am still not finished!  If you run across a club I've not mentioned or that is no longer available, please let me know.  The number of available clubs is astounding and it is getting hard for me to keep them all straight on my own.

Now for the newest clubs!  Starting off the list is Fancy Stitches in Texas with their Thanksgiving Stars set from Kathy Schenkel.  With the holiday just around the corner, this is a perfect time to start on a set for next year's display. They have done Kathy's Halloween and Nativity Stars in the past, so you could have a stars ornament theme going for each holiday.  Just sayin'....

Nashville Needleworks is doing a monthly club with the Tapestry Tent/Susan Roberts Halloween March canvas.  You'll work a part of this larger piece every month until all the darling children in their trick or treat outfits are finished.  Looks like you can still sign up for their spring Egg club, too.
