Town and Country Gives Permission to Wear Needlepoint

Thanks to Jane V. who mentioned this on Facebook, I have an online article from Town and Country counting all the neat needlepoint wearables available.

They don't mention you can stitch these yourself for less money and a higher quality, not to mention getting precisely what you want.  But once again we discover we needlepointers are trendy as all get out.

Here's a bit more about Tucker Blair's goods.

Here is the Smathers and Branson website.

Just in case you feel the need to go preppy without the fun of stitching these things, you know.

Need a Belt Finished?

I just heard about Hill Top Leather Shop which does needlepoint belts (and much more) on Facebook. I don't know anything about them but I sure had fun browsing their website!  They also do dog collars, key fobs and flask finishing.

A Toast!

One of the more unusual needlepoint gifts I've seen is Liz's whiskey flask. I'll let her tell you about it.
http://lizartblog.blogspot.com/2013/12/motorcycle-flask.html

I think Liz got her flask from Elizabeth Turner Designs, which offers several patterns for the inside.  Liz needed a plain piece of canvas as her design was custom.  Liz told me that the leather wrap is attached with velcro.  She's still trying to find a good way to adhere the NP canvas to the back side of the leather.  If you remove the leather wrap, the needlepoint canvas falls out.  Any one have good ideas on how to do this?  The glues she has tried don't work as they don't bond well to leather.  After all, the canvas has a lot of holes.

Another Hand Made Item Better Than Mass Market

Needlepoint Land reminds us that although we can buy a cheap mass market needlepoint hip flask, Elizabeth Turner has lovely canvases and leather flasks so you can customize your needlepoint to the person who will carry this.  You also will get a leather wrapped flask with accent needlepoint which I think will help keep the stitching clean as hands won't touch it constantly.

Here are the designs available from Elizabeth Turner.  I believe the monograms can be customized to the letters of your choice but check with your local shop on that before you order.
