New Stitch Monday's Mahjong Sign

Ridgewood Needlepoint's "New Stitch Monday" series is tackling a mahjong sign.  First, Stephanie worked the background around the word and then beaded the letters.  (This is a 13 count canvas, by the way, from Maura Nolan Designs).

The tile with two flowers is done. It's quite pretty.  I like fly stitch for leaves.

No Smoking

I love this sign!  It was spotted by Pepita in a doctor's office.  Great job, Ellen!

My doctor's old office also had a framed needlepoint, a large geometric in the style of oriental rugs, on the walls.  It was stitched by one of the nurses but I never managed to find out which one and thank her for the treat before my doctor switched to another practice.

Maybe we should all stitch things for our doctors to display!  Where else are there lots of people sitting and looking at the walls while they wait?

Boston Strong (with Manatees)

I missed posting canvases celebrating the spirit of Boston during the Boston Marathon earlier this week but the Boston Strong theme is always relevant.   Wellesley Needlepoint has two ornaments that are fund-raisers.
