The Smart Cookie Award Goes to Beverly!

Beverly went looking for some tiny snowflake sequins and stumbled across these.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/NeedlepointNation/permalink/2143386855738461/

She bought them from the Kat Scrappiness website and says she got good customer service from them.  Kat Scrappiness carries lots of different sequins for scrapbooking in a variety of sizes.  Shop carefully as many don't have holes to attach them; they are meant to be glued onto paper.  You might be able to pierce those with a needle but maybe not.

Color Eyes Beading Needles from Beadsmith

I just learned from Quail Run that Beadsmith is selling beading needles with colored eyes so you always know which size you are grabbing.  They are not on the shop website yet but a pack of six in assorted sizes is in stock.
http://quailrunneedlework.com

Here is a video that shows them off.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcUt3uI8UQ0

It appears that the six pack of assorted needles has two each of size 10, 11 and 12 beading needles and there is a color code on the front of the package.  You can also buy packs of six needles in all one size if you prefer a size 10, for example.  I'm not sure Quail Run stocks those, however.

If you like using varying sizes of beading needles and love knowing exactly which size you've picked up, this might be the product for you.

Threadaholic Alert: Tillie Thomas Essentials from Planet Earth Fibers

There's a new thread in town! It's called Essentials and it is half silk and half Merino wool.  It is thinner than Pepper Pot Silk, which I find a little fat for 18 count (but others think Pepperpot perfect for 18 count canvases so this is probably related to stitch tension).  This is available from Planet Earth Fibers.  Suzie Vallerie loves it and promises a review later on when she's not so busy getting ready for the Orlando show. (second link)

There are 130 colors and 10 yards of thread on each card.  Stay tuned!

Introducing Zoe Gilbertson

Thanks to Corrina, I have a new needlepoint artist's website for us to all explore.  Zoe Gilbertson is a fashion designer with an interest in needlepoint which she combines with spray paint.  You can buy her original pieces or digital prints of them if they are sold out (which most are).

Unicorns in Needlepoint UPDATED

Apparently April 9 was Unicorn Day (how did I miss THAT?!) so Accoutrement Designs has posted their unicorn themed magnets and fobs. Unicorn canvas by Oasis.
https://fobfriends.blogspot.com/2019/04/happy-unicorn-day.html

Black Rose Needlepoint has a new design—"Sophie's Unicorn." This normally comes on 13 mesh but it can be done on 18 count or 10 count for a child to stitch.

Needlepoint.com has a folk art version of a unicorn ornament as an online class.

Nenah Stone has a lovely one that's not too large at seven inches square.

A. Bradley has a darling small unicorn mini sock.

My Pink Sugar Life has a sweet one.

Actually, their shop has the most unicorn small pieces I've found.  You can find a Kathy Schenkel tooth fairy unicorn or mini sock with a castle in the background, Rachel Donley's round unicorn ornament with space for a monogram (or perhaps a tiny photo?), and several versions of Princess and Me's little uni ornament, plus Burnett and Bradley's silvery Harry Potter-worthy unicorn rearing.  Plus you can get their folk art unicorn as a plain canvas.

Here's the Princess and Me uni made up into a pillow.

And as an ornament.

Susan Roberts offers the Tapestry Tent unicorn Christmas stocking.

Oasis Needlepoint has a unicorn portrait that appears to be rather large.

LizArt has a small charted one, suitable for a beginner.

So does Burnett and Bradley (formerly A Collection of Designs).

The famous unicorn from the Cluny Tapestries is still available for those who love Medieval designs.
Search around though.  You can get it cheaper than this.

Or just buy and download the chart.

Alice Peterson has a version as well.

However, my favorite is the Ehrman kit from Candace Bahouth.

UPDATE:  Rebecca Wood has two new unicorn ornaments and a unicorn with rider piece.  The She Unicorn has a pink and green mane while the He Unicorn ornament has a purple and green mane.
