Charley Harper Day!

I name today Charley Harper Day! Why?  (Let's not ask why I think I have the right to christen today or any day a CH holiday--you will deflate my ego!)

A)  Because Bedecked and Beaddazzled is having a Charley Harper trunk show and among their goodies is this new canvas of a robin taking a bath in a birdbath.

B)  Because Marnie is making Charley Harper Christmas ornaments from felt.  It's not needlepoint but it is charming so I included this for the many fans of Charley's work.

Happy Charley Harper Day!

Photographing Needlework

If you have ever taken a photo of your needlework and been disappointed with the results, Mary's article on how she takes photographs of her needlework for her blog will be helpful.

ANG Seminar Expo, Teacher Showcase, Auction and More UPDATED

Jan has been really really busy helping run the ANG Seminar. Luckily she has had a little time to tell us about it.

Diane of the NJNA crew also has reported on these events.  Sounds like lots of work and lots of fun!

Animal Thread Holders

If you are a little tired of the cardboard bobbins you wind floss and other threads around, then Tara's find on Etsy might be just the thing for your newest tool.  These are made from birch which means they won't be acid free in the long run. Also, they are rather expensive, having just one for your latest project's current thread might be a fun treat, particularly if you don't leave the thread on the wooden bobbin too long.

Finishing Friday: The Christmas Train is Bearing Down on Us!

Yes, finishing deadlines are upon us! And Christmas is rushing toward us like a runaway freight train.  After all, there are only 118 days until December 25!

Fortunately, some folks are ready.  Just wish it was me.
