Carol Eix Demonstrates Frame Weights: The Movie

Recently Creative Stitches and Gifts in Houston has started a series of short videos for their Facebook page.  These videos are interviews with local designers.  This particular video is of Carol Eix, who creates frame weights, snap trays and who also owns Creative Stitches and Gifts.

The video always shows how to use a snap tray (or a bead snap tray), a button snap magnet, pincushions, etc.

Meet the Designer Series from Creative Stitches and Gifts

I just discovered a fun video interview series that Creative Stitches and Gifts is doing on Facebook—Meet the Designer!  These are short videos of designers who live in the Dallas area where the shop is, so you can watch several at a time and see the real person behind the designs you love.  By the way, here's the shop website so you need to do a little online shop visiting today.

The first video interview is with Raymond Crawford.

The second features Patricia Sone.

Breaking News: New Owner for Creative Stitches and Gifts

Creative Stitches and Gifts in Dallas has a new owner--Carol Eix!
http://www.creativestitchesandgifts.com

The reason Carol's name seems familiar is because you love her line of snap trays and frame weights and those clever button laying tool holders.

Congratulations to Carol and Creative Stitches!

Anna Pearson's Travel Tips (with Help from Lisa)

The British needlepoint designer Anna Pearson loves to travel and posted travel tips for the needlepointer on her blog. Those of us who travel a lot for work or pleasure already know these things (and might have tips of your own--put those in the Comments if you don't mind) but if you only fly occasionally, this might help you get organized.

By the way, Lisa of BeStitched has a great travel tip--she uses Carol Eix Design snap trays to stay organized when stitching on a plane or keeping items together in a hotel room.

Important Safety Tip

When I noticed that Diane just bought a cover for her magnifier, it reminded me that a friend just had her magnifier burn a hole in a cushion.   Diane's new cover is from Carol Eix Designs (second link), but you can make one yourself fairly easily or just drape a large handkerchief over the glass when your magnifier isn't in use.

Bottle Cap Magnets and More

Pocket Full of Stitches shows off new bottle cap magnets from Carol Eix Designs. I'd seen these occasionally but never so many together. They are cute!

Needle in a Haystack also has some new items on display at their blog.  I'm to going to tell you what; go see for yourself.
