The Virtual Nashville Needlework Expo is On

Conventions and needleowrk markets have been turned upside down by the coronavirus but the usual March Nashville Expo for cross stitch and counted work is still going to be held, but in a different way.

Yarntree/Needlework Retailer are not going forward with a real show but Noteworthy Needle has picked up the ball and will sponsor a virtual market instead.  It's mostly cross stitch but some needlepoint folks attend, so if you are interested, designers or shops  can register at the website created for this special event.  Sorry, folks, this isn't open to the general public.

Let the shopping begin!

Thanks to Sally, we just heard that Sajou is closing their Paris store.

They simply can't keep it open with the pandemic restrictions.  Their online shop is still open for business, however.

Shop Realities During a Pandemic

Ruth Schmuff has posted a heads up about the realities of buying canvases and taking classes during a pandemic.
https://bedeckedandbeadazzled.com/2020/08/psa/

This is the second time this week I've seen shop owners say there is now a six month wait for canvases you have to order, so do plan ahead now for what you want to stitch this winter.

By the way, designers are having a time, too.

A Facemask Cover in Needlepoint UPDATED

This free design is fun, but I think it's not very practical given the constant laundering a fabric face mask needs.  Sure would be a fun display item for a needlepoint shop, though!
