New Painted Canvases from Needlepoint Dads

Are you a fan of the counted canvaswork of Needlepoint Dads?

Do working from charts cause your eyes to cross and your brain to freeze up?  Or is it just me?  Regardless, some of Dan's designs are now available as painted canvases from Needlepoint Inc. in San Francisco.  I found four of them currently available:
"Dad's Old Ties"

"Once Round the Sun"

"Sahara"

and "Seregeti."

It's cause for celebration to have some of these lovely things more widely available.

A Shop Visit, A Celebrity and More

BLG Mom has been in the San Francisco Bay Area to visit family recently.  She managed a trip to the new shop, Stitched Up Needleworks, met a celebrity, went on a field trip to Needlepoint, Inc., and a visit to the San Francisco School of Needlework and design.  In other words, she generally had a blast.

Here's the shop website, still a work in progress.

Here is Margaret Bendig's website.

Needlepoint, Inc.'s website.  They have an in-house artist who designs pieces you can't get anywhere else plus they have their own line of silk flosses that are lovely.

Finally, here is the website for the San Francisco School of Needlework and Design.  All of the above is a real treat and we thank BLG Mom for sharing her trip with us.

Tea Time

A friend and I were talking about tea cozies which are used a lot in the United Kingdom but are much rarer here in the USA. But there are some wonderful needlepoint designs meant for tea cozies. Here are the ones we found—

Janet Granger has some really darling miniature tea cozies meant to be stitched on silk gauze.
https://www.janetgranger.co.uk/product-category/teacosy-kits/

She's in the UK but you can buy from her Etsy store.

If you are more into stitching painted canvases, how about these two from Ziva?
http://www.ziva-needlepoint-designs.com/shopping-for-tea-cosies.html

Or these from Needlepoint Inc.?  They are more expensive because they are double-sided with gussets.

Kirk and Bradley has several abstract designs that might appeal.

Ehrman has a classic rose tea cozy that is beautiful.  Since it is printed on 12 count canvas, it'll stitch up fast.

Let's drink (tea or coffee, your choice) to these!

Robots are Taking Over

A lot of folks have been commenting that the NTA show in Orlando had lots and lots of canvases featuring llamas and flamingos. That's true, but what really caught my eye were all the robots!

Besides Raymond Crawford's robots,
http://raymondcrawford.com/designs/robots/index.html

Kathy Schenkel had a Christmas robot mini sock,
http://pocketfullofstitches.blogspot.com/2019/04/orlando-market-our-finds-post-1.html

Needlepoint Inc. has a somewhat scary one,

Actually, they have a lot of them!  I like the red one.
https://needlepointinc.com/collections/new-arrivals/robot

Waterweave has Robot Greetings, which makes me smile.

Pepita has a cute one with a heart beat monitor.
https://www.pepitaneedlepoint.com/product/kits-canvas/robot-one

It also comes with a buddy.
https://www.pepitaneedlepoint.com/product/kits-canvas/robot-buddies

Petei has a tiny robot.

You can even get a robot in a beginner's kit.

Or a more advanced kit you can personalize with a name.

This stitcher created an original design so she could incorporate LED lights into the robot.

Needlepoint Inc. Moved in June

Needlepoint Inc. has moved to a new location.  If you aren't familiar with the shop, you'll love the photographs.  Heck, you'll love the photos if you ARE familiar with the shop.

You will love their website, too.  They distribute Chinese silk in lovely colors and also design their own line of painted canvases.  It's a full service store, with finishing and teaching, too.

This is one of the Must See sights in San Francisco for stitchers!

Pagoda Love UPDATED

Are you crazy for Asian themed canvases like me? Then you will love Jenny Henry's Pagoda Love series. Classic!  I am not sure which Fantasy Pagoda I like best, being torn between NPI5 and NPI8, but they are all wonderful.
