Anne's Santa

Anne of ABS Designs has finally finished her 15 inch high Amanda Lawford Santa. This labor of love was stitched in spare moments taken from Anne's needlepoint business just for fun and display at her house.  Anne's a master of restraint as you can see from the photo (click to enlarge) and from her "Making It Simple" column in Needlepoint Now magazine.

If you'd like to follow Anne's stitching journey, type "Amanda Lawford Santa" into the search bar in the upper left corner then click on the little magnifying glass.

Limited (Labors of Love)

Each year Labors of Love combines a love of porcelain with a love of pattern and color to produce a limited edition canvas that comes with china attachments to create a dimensional doll of sorts that rises from a needlepoint background and wears needlepoint outfits.   Each year all ten-fifteen canvases sell out.   Nimble Needle talks a bit about Madame Pompadour, the subject of this year's edition, on their blog.  Click on each photograph to see it better.  This year's china pieces are the head and two arms, one holding an amazing fan.

Most of the series are historical royal figures, kings and queens, although a couple of years ago JP Sligh did an amazing geisha figure.  You can see them all here.  I think my favorite is Anne Boleyn.  Can't wait to see her stitched!

Ada Goes to Texas

Ada went to Cleburne, Texas for a stitching retreat and (naturally!) a trip to Fancy Stitches.

If you aren't up for a quick jaunt to Fancy Stitches yourself, here is their website.  It wouldn't load when I wrote this but might have been down for maintenance.  Hope you can see the site.  The shop has a great reputation and some wonderful finishing to admire.

Mark Likes Easter Eggs (And So Does Laura)

Mark at Labors of Love has collaborated with JP to stitch some of the Labors of Love Easter eggs that are available from their company.  Well done, Mark!  I love what you are doing with these little guys.

You can see their three Easter eggs and all the other Easter-themed designs on the company's website.

By the way, Laura Perin likes eggs, too.  She's into Faberge eggs, and does counted designs for those who like their canvas unpainted.

Makes me want to go eat a chocolate egg.  (But what doesn't?!)

Whiskers for the Easter Bunny

Linda's finished stitching her Japanese Bunny. Look at those whiskers! Who knew one ply of floss would be perfect?

I'm sorry, I don't know the designer but Linda stitches great rabbits.  Here's another.
