Tassels Here, Tassels There

It's always a pleasure to follow Mary Agnes around her shop as she talks about this or that. Today she is showing off a series of classic tassel and bow designs from Trubey, adapted to fit a variety of projects.  They are sophisticated and beautiful, aren't they?  One would never tire of such a project over the years.

Inside a Pocket Watch

Needle in a Haystack has an unusual finishing idea for very small pieces done on silk gauze--frame them with pocket watches from the scrapbooking aisle of your crafts emporium!

Here's a bigger view of these fake pocket watches.  Very clever, NIAH!

My Magnificent Flying Angel

Petei's Flying Angel

Here is my Petei Flying Angel, straight from the magic fingers at West Coast Finishing.

The Finishing is Superb
I wish you could see the details in person.  The pedestal with its stars matching the angel's star garland is terrific, the red bow cute as a bug, and the trim perfect.  Both sides of the ornament are padded to add a little dimension.  She's wonderful!

She Has a Special Touch

She Lights Up!  What a Surprise!

Many, many thanks to Sue Parsons of West Coast Finishing.  I had no idea you planned something as great as this!

Betsy and the Flag

Sue just finished stitching her Betsy Ross rollup from ABS Designs. She had a little trouble with threads and stitches but I think Betsy is wonderful. She's worth th pain! (Especially if you aren't doing the stitching and ripping!)   Happy Fourth!

In case you can't wait to see how Sue finishes her Betsy, here are brief roll up instructions for two different looks from A Dragon's Tale, who offer some wonderful rollup Santas.

Friday Finishing: From Bunnies to Trains

The Young Needlepointer has been quite busy working up her rabbit design. It is amazing!   Not only is it dimensional, it is balanced in a folk art sort of way.   If this is what Casey does at camp, we all want to go along to that place!  (I think the rabbit is a Brenda Stofft design but I'm not certain.)  This isn't technically finished as it's not made up yet, but I thought you had to see this in case Casey doesn't get around to posting photos of the made up piece for a while.

Linda's also been busy.  She just got her wonderful Raymond Crawford Christmas train back from Marlene's.  The finishing is minimal but perfect.  Don't miss her little ice cream cart, either.  It's not ready for finishing but it is getting close.  Linda's going to be ready for Christmas 2014 in style!
