Gay Ann Rogers Sale Starts Today

Gay Ann Rogers' latest counted canvaswork design, Mystery in St. Tropez, will be offered for sale June 13 (today!) through June 15.   If you like counted geometrics, you'll love this.  St. Tropez is a mystery design.  On Gay Ann's home page you can see the center of the design which is the same for everyone.  You can also see the various choices for the sides and corners.  Each stitcher picks their own colors, then chooses which of the alternative sides/corners they like, so no two designs will be the same.  You'll be able to purchase the chart starting at 8 a.m. Pacific time from Gay Ann's website.

Not good at picking colors?  Not to worry.  Needle in a Haystack in Alameda, CA has assembled thread groupings for you.  Those are also posted on Gay Ann's home page.  If you see one you like, you can contact NIAH to order those threads and the colored canvas paired with them.

Gay Ann will be the guest for the June 22nd We Talk Fiber podcast to talk about this new mystery design, color and being your own designer the easy way.

Threadaholic Alert: Mary's Favorite Threads Video

If you love threads, you'll want to watch the latest video by FiberTalk.  Yes, I know FiberTalk normally does podcasts, but this week they interviewed Mary McGuire on camera to learn about her favorite threads.  You will see Mary's projects and hear her explain what thread was used where. Very interesting!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUGuTvFVEuE&feature=youtu.be

By the way, I'm guessing that these are the Wubbers flat-nosed pliers Mary mentions at the end of the video.

Mary's Ten Favorite Needlepoint Stitches: The Movie

The mid-week podcast for Fiber Talk is very short because of a video that Gary made with Mary McGuire, talking about her favorite stitches—with examples from her stitching.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3L9et96upc

If you like counted designs or Bargello, you'll see a lot of wonderful designs.  You'll also learn a lot about using a variety of threads in one stitch and see how the look changes with the thread.  Very neat video!
